2.  Craftsman

The exterior of a Craftsman home typically features natural building materials such as wood, stone and brick.  In addition, craftsman homes have covered front porches with square or round columns (some have stone porch supports), low-pitched roofs with wide overhanging eaves and triangular brackets, exposed beams, strong horizontal lines and an open floor plan.  For example, a bungalow home can display a craftsman style, and many often do.  Popular exterior colors for craftsman homes include muted earth tone shades of green, brown or taupe.  The American Craftsman style dates back to the 1860s, during the industrial revolution.
